Sam Schoon
Samantha Schoon: My prime vocal influences are Lesley Garrett, Peggy Lee, Barbara Streisand, Anne Lennox and from the more dramatic styles of Freddie Mercury and Meat Loaf. A new influence is Tarja Turunen (ex. Nightwish). Her mix of classical and rock styles in brilliant.
My classical musical influences are Mozart and Handel. I think Sting, Dire Straits, Chicago, Aerosmith, Queen and Blondie have influenced me too. Finally from a melodic point of view Doris Day and The Carpenters are a great example on how to deliver great vocal lines.

My journey into Blujon has been an interesting one. I had no idea the level of hard work I would have to put into the transition from a classically trained melodic soprano to fronting a indie rock band. With the help of top vocal coach sheridan Coldstream I am working to the new musical me.

Working with Will writing lyrics and composing melodies has given me a new dimension to my musical career. The time I spent as a music teacher has come in handy.
Don't misunderstand I still enjoy singing with my local choir and still perform at local gigs when invited.
